Luxury is just a word
The research in theory lessons we had to do this semester were based on three dates.
1750 - 1890 - 2000
I'm seriously not going to explain the whole assignment and progress of my research, but my focus in this research is the perception of luxury throughout history. I came to this concept because the previous research I did ended in only a list of luxurious products, companies and professions.
Next to this research I wanted to make two paintings to show our weird twist in our perceptions of what we call 'luxurious'. This odd twist in our way of thinking is also something I wanted to reflect in the paintings, thus the idea of making an 'old' painting with newest luxury products and a 'new' painting with old luxury products. You get the point.
This is the first painting. Well, progress of the painting, it's far from finished:

Relexa Chessboard - progress
Still working hard on the Relexa Hotels chessboard.
And, oops, I indeed lied, here is another GIF!
After the first layer of black paint, I did a second layer, painted the sides black and the first layer of silver paint in the logo. Also the little feet get their first layer:

Inspired by...
I made a photo inspired by a compilation of Bonnard works.
Colourful flowers, black stockings, a *naked* girl, a nice cup of tea, bathroom, bath, colourful prints (yes, there, in the right corner).
Unfortunately I didn't have a cat to throw in the photo, maybe I should add a flying cat splattered against the tile wall?
FYI, blurred out the picture a bit.
Maybe..... MAYBE I shouldn't be posting this...
But this is how I usually feel making pictures. I'm just a fucking good actor, pretending to be au natural around cameras.
Now the whole world can see that I bought the porcelain from V&D
AND I promise this will be ONE of the last GIFS I'm making, people will start hating them now I guess.
On the other hand, I don't care if you hate them or not, I like childish moving pictures. Makes me think of the animations I used to draw in the corner of schoolbooks.
